Location and History

Beau Constantia is a boutique, modern wine farm located at the top of the scenic Constantia Nek, just 25 minutes from Cape Town's city center.

In 2000, after fires devastated the fynbos and pine forests on the property, the slopes were cleared and terraced, revealing the ideal conditions for planting vineyards. The vines are planted at elevations reaching 350 meters above sea level on some of the steepest agricultural slopes in the Cape. These carefully tended vineyards are graced with panoramic views of the Stellenbosch and Helderberg Mountain ranges and False Bay.

Wine Tasting

The estate features indoor and outdoor wine-tasting areas and the acclaimed Chef's Warehouse Constantia restaurant. Perched at the top of the Constantia Valley, the estate offers some of the most breathtaking views in Cape Town.
Developing vineyards on these challenging slopes required patience and dedication, but today, the farm proudly maintains just over 11 hectares under vine. The varieties cultivated include Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Shiraz, and Petit Verdot.

Restaurant

At Beau Constantia, they offer a variety of wine-tasting experiences to cater to different preferences. Whether you prefer the 'Glass Box' wine bar area, the serene outdoor setting under the trees, or the lower slopes of the farm with stunning views of the Constantia Valley, the estate has something for everyone. To complement the wines, we also offer cheese and meat platters, which can be enjoyed with a glass or bottle of your favourite wine.

Chef's Warehouse, known for keeping their offerings fresh and exciting, presents a seasonal, produce-driven menu that changes regularly. Their signature experience is the globally-inspired tapas for two.
Guests can dine in the main area, which features beautiful vineyard views and cosy fireplaces, or book Chef's Table next to the open kitchen or the Glass Wine Tasting Box (dinner only).
