Location and History

Boschrivier Wines is a boutique wine farm at the foot of the Klein River Mountain range in the beautiful Akkedisberg Valley, 17km from Stanford and 35km from Caledon. Boschrivier Wines is located on two farms; the vineyards and tasting room are on Remhoogte farm and the accommodation is on Boschkloof farm.

For families visiting the tasting room, there is a play area for the children. They also offer light snacks and beverages, including coffee. There are various products available in their shop, ranging from crafts to preserves. Boschrivier Wines is open Monday to Sunday during summer and Monday to Saturday the rest of the year.

Wine Tasting

The family-owned wine farm is especially famous for their full-bodied and well-balanced Shiraz, a wine they have been making since 2001. Other wines include a Sauvignon Blanc , a Rosé made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Accommodation

Guests can book the tasting room for functions like weddings and birthday parties and can seat up to 100 people. A stay in any of their five accommodation units offers the peace and tranquillity of a relaxing countryside lifestyle. With spacious open-plan living areas and multiple bedrooms, all units are perfectly suited for festive gatherings with family or friends. In total, they can host 36 people.

The manor house was restored in 1978, while the cottage, old farm school, old shed house, and old cellar house were all recently renovated and furnished. All units boast spacious rooms, modern interiors, and guest amenities for maximum comfort. Guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including canoeing on the dam (canoes are available on the farm), hiking, mountain biking and bird watching.
