Fort Simon Wine Estate is nestled in the heart of the picturesque Stellenbosch wine region, an area renowned for its exquisite vineyards and unique terroir. The estate's history began in 1901, emerging from the larger 'Goede Hoop' property, and underwent transformative developments in the 1970s under Dr. Simon Uys, who introduced diverse grape varieties. Although Dr. Uys passed away before realizing his dream of a winery, his efforts laid the foundation for what would become an award-winning estate. In 1997, his son, Renier Uys, honored this legacy by establishing the Fort Simon wine cellar. The estate's elevation and diverse soil types contribute to the quality of wines produced here, allowing visitors to experience the charm of the vineyards while enjoying the views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
