Established by Paul Sauer in 1929, the winery sits on the slopes of the Simonsberg mountain, an area characterized by decomposed granite, hutton, and clovelly soils. First producing wines in 1973, Kanonkop quickly built a reputation for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage. Today, managed by the fourth generation of the Sauer family, the estate reflects a commitment to quality and tradition, showcasing a unique terroir influenced by its topography and climate.
