Located on Twee Jonge Gezellen Road, Twee Jonge Gezellen Estate boasts a scenic setting in the historic Tulbagh wine region of South Africa. Nestled in a valley surrounded by majestic mountains, the estate's rich terroir—characterized by rocky soils and a unique climate—enhances grape quality and cultivates optimal conditions for viticulture. The estate’s legacy dates back over 300 years, featuring Cape Dutch architecture that has been lovingly restored to retain its historical essence. The estate fuels a commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability, managing the surrounding landscape to contribute to the biodiversity of the area. Owned by the Rands family since 2012, the estate employs traditional winemaking methods, emphasizing the significance of time and nature in each vintage produced. Wine Tasting
At the heart of Twee Jonge Gezellen Estate is its tasting room, where guests can indulge in a selection of handcrafted Cap Classique wines that express viticultural excellence and unique terroir expressions. The estate crafts a captivating assortment of wines, including Borealis Cuvée Brut, Rosé Cuvée Brut, Night Nectar Demi-Sec, and others, which are available to taste in guided sessions throughout the week. Visitors can savor the award-winning wines in a blend of structured flights such as the Discovery, Premium, and limited Vintage-Only vertical tastings that showcase the evolution of the estate's signature wines over the years. Each tasting is meticulously designed to reflect the characteristics of the specific vintage, with the opportunity to learn about the traditional methods employed in winemaking, including malolactic conversion and extended aging on the lees. Furthermore, the tasting room, open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00 and on Sundays from 10:00 to 14:00, offers an intimate space where guests can appreciate the meticulous craft involved in each bottle.
