Seated at hand-made tasting tables, a welcoming tasting counter or on comfortable sofas, visitors have an unimpeded view of the working cellars and original artworks by acclaimed South African artist Jacob Hendrik Pierneef. Guests can choose between the Current Vintage Tasting, Vinoteque Tasting or the Varietal Glass Specific Tasting.
Restaurant
The Bakery & Garden Café offers freshly baked bread from an on-site wood-fired oven, forming the foundation of a delicious seasonal menu. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and tempting pastries in cosy indoor or outdoor seating, while also exploring serene gardens with ancient oaks, a tranquil pond, and a farm-inspired playground. Bread and pastries are also available for purchase to take home.
The La Motte restaurant and Farm Shop are currently closed for renovations.

Guests can further explore the estate through various guided walks, including the Historic Walk, Sculpture Walk, and Art Experience walkabout, which offer insights into the Cape Dutch architecture, estate sculptures, and the personal stories behind the art exhibits. These walks must be pre-booked, with operating hours available for reference.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the La Motte Hiking Trail provides an opportunity to discover the estate's natural assets and breathtaking views. The circular route spans 5km, with a 2km hiking section, taking approximately 2-3 hours. Self-guided hikes are available daily during the summer months, and guided hikes are offered on Tuesdays, both requiring pre-booking.
While La Motte does not accommodate weddings or conferences, the Pierneef à La Motte Restaurant serves as an ideal venue for group events. The estate also hosts a range of cultural events, including art exhibitions featuring J.H. Pierneef's works and classical music concerts in the Historic Cellar.
