Lemberg
Winery Description
Location and History
Lemberg Estate is nestled in the picturesque Tulbagh Wine Valley, surrounded by breathtaking mountains and fertile soil that contribute to its exceptional terroir. The estate was founded in 1978 by winemaker Janey Muller, who initially planted the first Sauvignon Blanc vines, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey in South African winemaking. Once the smallest winery in the country, Lemberg has grown in reputation while maintaining its dedication to crafting wines that reflect the character of the land. The current custodians, Henk du Bruyn and Suzette Jansen van Rensburg, have continued Muller’s legacy by focusing on terroir-driven wines. Their winemaking philosophy revolves around collaboration and a commitment to quality, ensuring that each bottle embodies the estate's unique spirit. The area's soil types and climate create an ideal environment for the vineyard, enabling the growth of exceptional grape varietals that thrive in the Tulbagh region.
