Location and History
Situated at the foothills of the Jonkershoek Mountain, Rainbow’s End offers breathtaking views of the Banghoek basin, surrounded by a stunning mountain range. At elevations ranging from 350m to 540m, the terroir features deep red, oakleaf soils that contribute to the unique flavor profiles of the wine produced here. Founded in 1978 by Jacques Malan, Rainbow's End planted its first vineyards in 2000, focusing on boutique, family-produced red wines. The estate has grown to encompass 22 hectares of meticulously tended vines, with cultivation methods that respect the natural environment. This commitment to quality is reflected in every aspect of the winemaking process. Recognized as an official wine ward, Banghoek emphasizes the area's ideal climate and elevation for viniculture. The passionate team includes Anton Malan as the winemaker and Francois Malan as viticulturist, ensuring that each bottle encapsulates the essence of this extraordinary landscape.
