This picturesque estate, originally known as La Tramontane, transformed from a fruit farm to a winery in 2005. The estate spans 64 hectares and is recognized for its breathtaking backdrop encompassing the Klein Drakenstein mountains, enhancing the tranquil atmosphere. The unique terroir features sandy Table Mountain sandstone and quartzite soils, providing an ideal environment for vineyard cultivation. The farm came under the ownership of Philippe Colin, a Burgundy producer, in 2014, who has since dedicated himself to elevating the estate's wine quality. Topiary's vineyards cover 20 hectares and cultivate classic varieties including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Shiraz. The estate practices sustainable viticulture, emphasizing minimal intervention, handpicking grapes, and utilizing indigenous yeasts for fermentation, ensuring authentic expressions of the terroir.
