Val du Charron Wine & Leisure Estate
Winery Description
Location and History
This award-winning estate has a rich history dating back to 1699. In 2006, the Entwistle family purchased the 45-hectare farm and revived its winemaking tradition, naming it "Val du Charron," meaning "Valley of the Wagonmakers," in homage to the Wellington Valley's original name.
Val du Charron's wines are enjoyed worldwide, but the best experience comes from savouring them on the estate, surrounded by vineyards. Guests can indulge in these wines at one of the estate's restaurants or from their own balcony at the 4-star Guesthouse or the 5-star Coach House.
Wine Tasting
Out of the estate's 45 hectares, over 21 are dedicated to vineyards. The primary plantings include Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, with 16 varietals producing a diverse selection of wines across three ranges: the Val du Charron Reserve Collection, Theatre of Wine, and Aphaea Range.
Val du Charron invites guests to fully immerse themselves in the wine lifestyle, from harvesting to enjoying
the finished product. Wine tastings, guided cellar tours, and vineyard tours are available, providing a comprehensive experience of the winemaking process. For a unique experience, visitors can explore the Theatre of Wine. All tours are seasonal and subject to arrangement. Please get in touch with the estate for further details.
